Interesting that only about 1% of the people who read a post respond to it. I would have expected a higher percentage in this group.

I have no idea of the response percentage but I just want to make sure someone responded to yours. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Have a great day.

I would think it would get a wee bit out of control if all 93 people that read the post before me had responded....but still an interesting stat

Anyone can read TTOL but only those registered can make a post. You get a lot of "lurkers" on any message board and facebook also.

The low percentage of responses is understandable. I'm sure most people are like me and "open" posts with subject matters that interest them or with which they have some general knowledge and can perhaps answer a question. They may or may not make a response. If someone asks a question and has received several good responses and you have nothing more or "unique" to add then an additional response is not warranted. After all, how many ways are there to tell someone that weather forecasts always predict rain, that there are lots of jewelry shops in Phillipsburg, there are lots of good restaurants in Grand Case, or you can watch big jets land at the airport - you get the idea.

If I may use you for an example, you have been a member since 2/10/2010, but have only entered 82 posts (or responses to posts) in 7 years. Surely you have read more than 82 posts, but you have only responded 82 times.
This Forum has a broad range of interesting topics, and I read it mostly to learn of others experiences. In the rare case I can answer a question, I will try to help.

Most of the voluminous posters have left this site for other grounds because they felt people were negative towards them. Maybe that's why so few posts. I know I weigh my words all the time because of flack received. Now I mostly read the flack given to others.

People leave for their own reasons. Regardless, I do not see anything positive to be gained from this thread.
