My wife and I just got back from 8 days in Costa Rica, 4 of which we spent at Casa Banda. The property is amazing. Perched high on the hill above the Pacific, the views are stunning. Arne and Bibi are wonderful hosts, and we met another very nice couple who were staying there. We spent our days split between beach/surfing time and lounging by the pool. This is a great place to relax and enjoy some clothing optional time.

I'm kind of confused, this is a naturist resort, or it's a property where they reserve certain weeks for naturist use? Which site did you use to book it?

Its clothing optional in the busy season, which, from what I understand, is also the dry season. We booked through this site which is for the C/O bookings:

This is the other site:

Never been to Costa Rica. From their website, they say you get there by flying via San Jose or Liberia? Did you fly to Nosara? Did you rent a car?
how safe is it roaming the country say compared to Jamaica and/or SXM?

We flew into San Jose. Liberia is closer, but we also spent a few days at the beginning checking out the Arenal/La Fortuna area. Our schedule also dictated that we fly in and out of San Jose. There is an airport in Nosara, but it didn't look like much more than an airstrip and a small building.I can only remember seeing a few planes the whole time we were there.

From San Jose we rented a car and drove everywhere. We got a local phone company sim card for my phone, and used the waze app to navigate. This made driving very easy. Costa Rica has very little street signage and it would be very hard to get around without navigation. You can rent a GPS from the rental card company for like $15 a day, but the sim card was around $20 for 2 weeks.

I felt very safe in Costa Rica. I have never been to Jamaica, and only flew through SXM, but compared to other Caribbean destinations and Mexico, I would say Cost Rica is much safer.
