Why does everyone say that if you are going to the top of the mountain to do it with a guide because of dangerous condition (people)?

I guess you're talking about Pik Paradis? There are criminals that hang out there, waiting to steal stuff out of your car or worse, rob you. Go with a group, if you go, and keep your head on a swivel. Don't take any valuables.

And to add to what Carol has told you, do NOT leave anything you value in your car - not even in the locked trunk or glovebox.

I haven't heard of any incidents happening up there lately but that's not to say they haven't happened and just have not been acknowledged here. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Thanks everyone, we definitely will not leave anything in our car as I have seen that warning 100's of times, lol.

For a view you might consider doing this:

Climbing up to Ft Louis in Marigot is nice as well.

Doesn't appear that the Rain Forest Adventure will open until October.
