Day 17 "Fun in the Sun"

Each day here we give thanks for the beautiful weather we have been experiencing on this vacation and appropriately so today! Waking up to warm sunshine and a view of the ocean is priceless!

We enjoyed breakfast in the condo and then went out to run a few errands and stopped at Market Garden to pick up some ingredients to prepare a dish for Thanksgiving dinner with friends. We stopped at La Sucriere for a baguette and some pastries for lunch and then returned to dine on the balcony.

We enjoyed the afternoon relaxing by the pool and later going to the top of Pelican Key to take some pictures and enjoy the "all surround view" from the top! Also a great place to see the planes take off and land at the airport!

At around 3:30P.M., we got ready and left to join some of our American friends for Thanksgiving dinner. Bill and Elaine were the perfect host and hostess and it was wonderful to spend time with our St. Maarten family. A traditional turkey dinner was enjoyed by all and homemade key lime pie and apple pie for dessert were both delicious! Thanks Elaine and Bill for always including us in this special day! It is really nice to see their neighbours, Irene and Bill, each year and also great to get to meet Michele. Coffee and conversation rounded out the evening and brought the day to a perfect close!

We stopped at the Dunes Casino at about 11:00 P.M. on our way home and made a small contribution. They too were thankful to share the wealth!!!
