We have an upcoming charter. Some of our guests will be flying out from STT a couple of days early. Normally we would bring them to Soper's Hole for the ferry there. My understanding is that the ferries are only going from Charlotte Amalie to Roadtown. If that is true I do not recall any dinghy docks in Roadtown for the drop off. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are correct that the CA ferries all depart from the cruise pier in Roadtown. I don't think immigration will allow you to bring your dinghy to those docks. It probably makes more sense to bring them ashore somewhere else in Tortola and have them taxi to Roadtown. Nanny Cay, Cane Garden Bay, Manuel Reef in Sea Cows, maybe TMM or Moorings could be options.

There is a dinghy dock in Road Town right in front of the Restaurant at the marina. There is no problem to drop and collect people there.

What are the rules for the use of the pier park tender slips? There are 10 deep water slips and about 400' of quay. The ferries are only using a couple of spaces and unless there are ships in the excursion ferries are not using them. Seems like the perfect place for dropping off or picking up ferry visitors.

I foundthis PDF of rules for the floating docks and it appears they operate as a short term marina with daily rates and first hour free. I wonder if that is lo longer effective post Irma.

Thanks for all the quick responses. Turquoise Turtle, when you say restaurant at the marina I am picturing Village Cay. I remember the dinghy dock there but where would we anchor the boat in that area? Maybe I am overthinking this.

When I was there in Jan it looked like they were letting people be pickup or dropped off after customs clearing down on the newer floating docks. There are some mooring ball just outside the harbor area (Breakwater before Wickham Cay 2 ). I wil be back May 5 so have a better look then, but maybe some going before can find out

Thanks to all. This info is very appreciated. We are going in the fall, so some things could change by then. I am trying to anticipate a stressfree drop off..........I don't want anyone missing a ferry! I can't get over how helpful this forum is.
