Day three, Monday, 2/20
Rough ride began about 6:30am, as we headed to St.Kitts. It was REALLY rough. Breakfast for the day was bagel with cream cheese, fruit salad, lychee yogurt, and coffee. P disappeared because naseau set in and I found him on the bed in a deep sleep with the Scopolamine on. He was the last of the gang to give in. Isabelle, the pro, doesn't count because she "has no time to be seasick". About six hours later, St.Kitts was in view, but it was another two hours before we arrived at the port.

In the meantime, we had lunch on the boat. Upon arrival at Port Zante, once again Isabelle took care of customs and fees, while we went on our merry way to pass by the next few hours. Isabelle later told us that clearing customs was a nightmare. I had read somewhere how painful the process was in St.Kitts. Fortunately for us, we didn't have the pleasure of experiencing any of that. Instead we went to the Public Market to replenish our produce supply. Open only on Mondays and Saturdays, so we were in luck. We picked up some tomatoes, cucumbers, coconut, and starfruit at another street vendor.

Walked around and also checked out the tourist shops at port. Some were in search of gifts. I was in search of a notebook for logging details of the sail, since I was running low on my paper supply. To my surprise, no luck anywhere. A girl asked me if I was a journalist. Eventually, the group split up. P was in search of WIFI, which brought him to Sweet Lime Restaurant located above the casino, but he wasn't able to connect. Somehow I found him and we had a drink together before meeting up with everyone at our scheduled time back at the boat.

We anchored for the night at White House Bay where we paddle boarded, kayaked, and snorkelled. M2 had a lion fish spotting. Dinner that night was grilled cheeseburgers with sauteed mushrooms and onion. P was the grillmaster. Like all things on the boat, it presented with some challenges. The charcoal grill was quiet small. Choice of sides were potato wedges, potato salad, and tomato salad. Dessert was pudding of the day once again. Later that night, one of the two water holding tanks went empty. We were very mindful of our water consumption when washing up or doing the dishes. The gang congregated in the cockpit over wine and wrapped up another good day.

Day four, Tuesday, 2/21
Since we were not able to clear customs at Nevis until sometime after 9am, there was no early morning knock from Isabelle. We set sail shortly after 9am. En route G called Greg, owner of Funky Monkey Tours & Rentals in Nevis, to arrange for a Polaris 4x4 rental and for taxi pickup when we arrived to Charlestown. I was surprised that my cell phone with Chippie sim card worked. St.Kitts to Nevis was a short sail taking approximately 40 minutes. Custom clearance done by Isabelle. A short wait and Greg arrived to chauffer us to his office for paperwork and pick up our rental. He gave us a tour along the way with a short stop at St.Thomas Angelican, the oldest church in the Caribbean.

15 minutes or so and we arrived at Funky Monkey. Greg agreed to pick up some basic provisions for us that he would deliver to Yachtsman Grill (also owned by Greg), where we would be having dinner and anchoring for the night. Paperwork done, got an island map with circled suggested stops, reminder to drive on the left, and we were on our merry way. Greg offered us a welcome drink, which the gang passed up, but not P and I. We gladly accepted and took our drink to go. Big thumbs up for Funky Monkey. Thought I had taken a photo of our Polaris, but I can't seem to find it. It's essentially a golf cart. I do have a photo of the horn though, my favorite part of the ride, and another Polaris on the road.

Much more stylish Polaris than ours.

First stop, Oauilie Beach, one of the more popular beaches in Nevis. Quick swim and then we were off to Mount Nevis Hotel. Pool is reserved for guests, but we charmed our way into a refreshing dip.

Next stop Nisbet Plantation Beach Club. Refreshment stop and for some another opportunity for a swim.

At this point, we were all ready for lunch and headed over to the Golden Rock Inn.

Patiently waiting for our table.

Golden Rock was spectacular with stunning views and gorgeous, lush gardens. Lunch was phenomenal. Highly recommend this to anyone in search of a special treat. Attaching the link for anyone who's interested. It gives you a better idea of how gorgeous this property really is.

Unfortunately, after lunch we were out of time and headed back over to Funky Monkey to drop off our rental. We were greeted by David Owen, distant cousin of the owner, who took care of the return. Yachtsman Grill was just across the street, beach front at Nelson Springs. We passed a sign at the entrance of the resort with a big picture of the very same David. Turns out that he's a magician performing at Yachtsman Grill, so we would be seeing more of him.

We spent the next few hours leisurely lounging on the beach and hanging out at the swim up bar. Then the gang went back to the catamaran anchored just off shore, while P and I kept each other company at the swim up bar for 1/2 off drinks happy hour 4-7pm and free WIFI. The bartender agreed to charge my iTouch if he could play my tunes; that worked for me. He also introduced us to "ting with a sting"- rum, ting, cranberry juice. I suspect that P and I were having lots more fun than the gang back on the boat.

7pm we all met back up for dinner. Isabelle also joined us for dinner on the beach. Appetizers consisted of salads, clam chowder, and a family style of lobster mac n' cheese (WOW!). Mains consisted of special fish of the day (can't remember what type), grouper with fries, salad with grilled chicken, and several orders of the grilled lobster tail with rice and vegetables. Our dinner wrapped up with some magic tricks compliments of David. Our provisions of ice, water, and batteries arrived and our queue to head back to the boat. I went to the bar to get my now fully charged iTouch and David made me a dog and a sword for the boys as a departing gift. The sword provided juvenile entertainment for some time. I was thrilled to have the dog, since I was missing Scout at this point, but it sadly popped on the dinghy ride back to the boat. Nightcap in the cockpit and bed.
