This year was the first year we decided to do St. Maarten without any guests along for the ride. What a great time. We were able to not plan a thing, do what we want, and not be the “hosts with the most” which was a great change for us. The island was so green to compared to other years.

We did an overnight again this year in Anguilla, which was really great. Took the GB Express, rented a car from Andy, and had a great relaxing time. We took the 9:15 a.m. ferry over and the late ferry back the next day, so it was almost like getting two full days on Anguilla. Anguilla is so different from St. Maarten really slow paced, kind of “sleepy” in a way. The beaches are unbelievable and the people are very friendly, we really enjoy our time there.

We did the Sunset sail on Celine in the lagoon. Very nice the boat is nice and very cool to see all the yachts close up.

We also did the Tuesday night in Grand Case our first week we at at La Villa, which was fantastic. After dinner we had to stop by Piazza Pascal for their Tiramisu, then off to check out the GunSlingers. Wow, they are a great group. If you have not seen them before they are a large group of Steel Drummers. Really cool!

Overall, we really enjoyed our time on the island. There was some road construction going on, but didn’t really have an effect on us. We expect traffic, delays, etc, but we have learned to go with the flow, relax, we are on vacation, so don’t let it bug you…so we didn’t.

It was great to see all of the SXM lovers at the get together our first Monday night. We had a wonderful time with Norm and Betty, and Norm’s “groupies” Tom and Judy. Great to catch up with all of our St. Maarten buddies at the party and meet some new ones as well!

We especially had a great time with our Minnesota comrades Bruce and Susan. Thanks for all the fun you guys, you are great friends!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but time off means really busy when you get home. We are looking forward to next year and the countdown is underway
