OK, still four months until we make our first post hurricane visit to BVI, but have actively followed all the trip reports and posts about venues that are open during this past year. With somewhat limited recovery reported in North Sound (other than Leverick) any reports of progress and timetable for the reopening of Saba Rock? Obviously, the Bitter End is a write off for the foreseeable future, but having additional facilities in the North Sound would be great as the jump off point for Anegada. Any insights greatly appreciated.

i was in the sound two months ago. while work at saba was underway, from what i observed i would guess another 6-8 months before any action there.

I cannot for the life of me remember where I read an update on this but I remember it saying they hoped to open in December 2018. If I find the article I will come back and post it. When we were there in June 2018, Leverick and Oil Nut Bay were the only two options. Leverick was great and felt just like before for the most part.

Thanks for the updates. I assume construction is progressing on island time, so understand the extended projection for completion. Any reports from anyone there more recently would be greatly appreciated.

Bitter End's latest update says they hope to have the mooring field, marina, retail and food and drinks available Spring 2019.

I was scrolling through some pictures on Flikr and found this one of Saba Rock under re-construction. Looks like the heavy equipment is hard at work... joy

Thank you for this post.

We are also a big fan of Saba Rock, and enjoyed their open air bar and restaurant, Their happy hour, Tarpon feeding and dinner. We will be in north sound in May 2019.

From what we are able to learn, at this time, DEC, 2018, our usual first stop , Leverick Bay , is pretty much up alpha. We plan a couple of nights at Leverick, with the Friday night BBQ, and band and the mocko jumbies.

The Saturday, still at Leverick, we will be having a nice dinner at the upstairs restaurant. For those who have not been there, Leverick is pretty much fun. First stop is the swimming pool, and then the tiki bar. This trip, we plan to get a slip , instead of a mooring. Just keep life easy, since on several of our 16 bvi bare boat sailing vacations we have had dinghy motor problems, and after sailing up the Sir Frances Drake Channel, and that is sailing for us,
reefed down, and small jib, we are going to be ready to party down. Yep, slip pick up, and stroll on over to the fun zone.

Just Erica and I, on a jeannea 36i, out of Conch Charters. This will be in north sound, about May, 17 and 18, 2019 , and should any of you, see a California Flag, a Hawaiian Flag, and a HAPPY HARGGGHHH black priate flag, snapping from the flag halyard, please dink over, you are invited aboard to splice the main brace and talk story.
