I am going to try to use this when we get to St. Thomas instead of going to the customs office. I have been trying to load the app with info but having trouble.
On my android, the app crashes everytime I try to enter the info about our boat. I can enter our passport data OK.
On my iphone, I open the app and can enter boat data, but the PP data I entered into the app on my android does not show up on the iphone. I just want this to work. Anyone have better luck?
Thanks.

When I used roam on my iPhone, I didn’t enter anything on the app until we were actually in US waters on our cat. I thought about playing with the app while in Ohio but thought it best to wait until I was actually there. The app was simple to use, just followed instructions until it started processing. The app tells you when processing, waiting for an agent to review it, when an agent is looking it over and finally when you have been accepted. You shouldn’t have any problems.

Same here. Worked perfectly and easy to use but only tried it in USVI waters. Only complication for us was having to get decal but you can do that at the same time and use PO order for decal number.

The boat needs to be registered with Home Land Security and have an annual sticker/decal. The decal has a registered number that needs to be entered when using the app. I registered on line about 3 weeks before we headed back to the BVI and had it in about 10 days,

You can also purchase it during your first use which is what we did two weeks ago. If you have the details I would recommend getting it in advance but you don't need the physical decal if you have the purchase order number.

Used the ROAM app clearing in to USVI at Cruze Bay on Friday. Submitted it and waited. Ended up taking a mooring at Lind pt and started filling out the paper work. Got nothing for an hour so I very hesitantly decided to give the CBP office a call. I knew that was a bad idea by the way so I put it off as long as possible. And yup... I got an ear full. And I guess I deserved it 'cause I didn't realize the CBP office doesn't open until 10:00. I had called at 10:10. At 10:15 I got the all clear and did not need to come in to show myself. it WORKS! I'm very happy about that. And noted for future use - don't submit until the office is open at 10:00!
Life's short - sail more!
