Portsmouth, Dominica
Greetings TTOLers, while some of you might know me from the BVI section, this is to let you know that Sanctuary and I have relocated to Dominica! The Nature Island!

I am building a house in Picard, Portsmouth and bringing Sanctuary down from BVI in early May. Look for the Peace signs on each hull and mainsail of my catamaran if you are anywhere from Anguilla to Dominica May 2-14.

If anyone needs info about visiting and staying here, let me know. Awesome local crafted bungalows can be had for around $40/night! There are a multitude of waterfalls to visit and every drive is amazing!

Hope to see you in paradise!

Peace, Capt Mark <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Groovin.gif" alt="" />

I'll gladly look for the peace signs.....and I'll gladly go look for the waterfalls...but this one will be moved to a more appropriate forum......

Captain Mark, I've always said if you can climb a tree you can survive in Domica right off the land.
It's absolutely a Shangrila in the Caribbean....Water , fruits, veggies there for the pickings and real friendly people just trying to make a living.
I like Roseau, it's a bit quieter.

ahhhhhh my fair dominica.... the symphony of crickets at night is thankfully on video.. nobody would believe how moving they can be.

Donaldson from nature isle explorers is highly recommended as a tour guide/contact to get your feet on the ground.

whatever you do, don't miss boiling lake. then take the next day off as ur legs will never be the same.

dominica is not to be missed if you are looking for a low key island to recharge and get back to basics.

(we had a lady come up to our apt with her goat and tell us to turn on the lights. we were consciously trying to keep the hydro bill down... when asked why? she replied so she knew we were home. my first instinct was to ask why? since nobody knew us to come over but I soon learned how far a French Bordeaux goes when you have new friends and a lively discussion on the porch.. luved it!)
