For those who might remember us, my husband Roy passed away last night from pancreatic cancer. We chartered 23 times in the BVI, stayed at the wonderful CRC, Great Camanoe, South Sound, etc.
Roy loved sailing and the BVI. For the past two years, we've been in Akumal, MX, as the aches and pains of aging got to us.

I also did not know him but am very sorry for your loss.
A poem I like to think of when I think of death: For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. (Khalil Gibran)
I believe that love is the only thing that lasts after death and in time you will find tho he is not walking with you on earth anymore he is always with you. After my brother passed it was raw pain for a long while then I came to know that the love we share transcends death.

Tammy,
I lost my youngest brother in April and even though it's been several months your posting of this poem brought me to tears again (even as I type this) but it is so, so much what I needed to hear. Thank you.

Fran I know how you must be hurting. My brother was also younger than I. I miss him so. My mum and I still talk about him almost everyday and we still cry a lot. But now the tears are not of pure grief, we are crying for what a wonderful person he was and all of our lovely memories, so it's happy thoughts and love that brings tears. In the beginning we had trouble accepting it, didn't understand why and thought it unfair. Now we have some peace.
Irish I'm sending a hug your way. Hope the holiday weekend finds you with some loved ones. Holidays are hard.
