The Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture sent a letter re. allowing jet ski use throughout SVG. The letter asked for feedback on the idea although from the wording of the letter that they have already made their mind up to allow the use of jet skis as 'a valuable contribution to develop our tourism product'. give your feedback here: bequiatourism@vincysurf.com or the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Culture direct at tourism@gov.vc

It is about time the Tourism minister recognize the importance to boost the tourism market in SVG. To my understanding, SVG is one of the many Caribbean islands that does not allow PWC. If you wish to continue to band PWC, THEN POWER BOATS SHOULD NOT ENTER OUR WATERS.

anon, I heartily disagree with you. Don't know where you live but I cannot imagine them in Admiralty Bay. I live in Miami on Biscayne Bay and they are horrible. They are also banned in Anguilla and other eco friendly island. This is going backward, not forward. Harms the enviroment, reefs and sea creatures. Power boats do not wake bays for the most part. Good luck irina <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cloud.gif" alt="" />

The Jet Skis will chase away with loud noise (whether 2 or 4 stroke) the people who come to the SVG for its beauty and natural surroundings. The only thing they'll attract are mindless morons who haven't a clue about the beauty and tranquility of the Caribbean.

We have a deck boat here on a nearby lake. On summer weekends we go find a favorite cove, drop anchor, and float in the quiet enjoying feeding the ducks and watching cranes fly over head UNTIL some idiot on a jet ski decides to come in from the main lake body to gun it around this peaceful cove causing huge wakes and noise. They're an utter nuisance.
