Unless it is locally grown produce, it will likely be the same produce one can find at any of the grocery stores as it all comes in on the same boat or plane. Nothing wrong with supporting a local fruit stand but what one can buy in the grocery might actually be more "fresh" due to refrigeration and turnover of product.
It is somewhat like the Amish produce stands around where I live. Unless the product is in season locally, you will find the shipping boxes piled under the produce wagon and it is the same as what one can buy in the local groceries.

There's a local farm somewhere near the Cupecoy area. I don't know details, but perhaps Elaine will see this and respond. Look for SXM Fisheries on FB. It's on Tigris Rd. in Cupecoy. I want to check this out in February.
