I forgot to mention a couple other interesting stories. An hour before we pulled away from the charter base, I inquired about any recent issues about going to Anegada. I was pointed to a guy standing a few paces away from me. He gave me some Anegada pointers. I then asked him about the DRINKING MAN'S GUIDE TO THE BVI. As luck would have it, he had some in his car (!?!?) He grabbed an issue, I gave him the cash, then asked why he carries boxes of this book in his trunk..."because I wrote it" he said. Sure enough, it was one and the same. Had him sign my book. Nice guy, helpful, and great book for saving some bucks on drinks/food.
We also went to Foxy's new place...Voodoo or taboo or something. We were the first to arrive at 11am. Upon arrival, we met Foxy's daughter, she took our drink order, and handed us some menus. A few minutes later, a tour boat from St. Thomas radioed in and placed 15 orders for food. She told us we would get our order in first, and took the order. That was about 11:15. At 11:30, the tour boat arrived. Since she was one of only two people working...the other the chef, she took drink orders, then food orders, then bussed tables. Then another tour boat arrived at 12:00. Again, she had to take drink orders and such. 12:30, the first tourboats food came out. I would say at least half of the orders were screwed up. We sat at the bar and got an earfull from each dissatisfied tourist. 12:45 came, and we managed to get our second drink. We were in no real hurry, but were very hungry, since we had been the first to place an order 2 hours before, we were sure we would be served soon. I finally got her attention at 1pm, and mentioned we needed to leave soon. She said the food would be up in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later she brought out two burgers...we ordered chicken, but we were starving and ate them. By the way, it was $22 for two burgers...no fries. The burgers were good though. It was obvious to me she got slammed unexpectedly...and I commented to her how sorry I was for her. She then said that "this happens every Thursday". That's when I got upset. Why if this happens every Thursday, did she not have help? With average wait time for food being 2 hours for an expensive burger...and nearly 1/2 the orders getting screwed up...and her not having any help, yet she still had time enough to complain about the way her mother decorates the place...I can only believe this place will be sucessful on the back of Foxy's rep. No way they would last a month without his rep. I know they just opened a few weeks earlier, but <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Hairy.gif" alt="" />
