Has anybody stayed at Sapphire recently and if so can you report on the condition. Also, how responsive is management these days to problems?

We stayed last week of January, place was completely full, while not as nice as the glory days years ago it is not bad. We had an issue with the door lock which needed a new battery, it was fixed within 15 minutes. It would be a three star place IMHO, but was fine for us as we travel around to other areas mostly anyway.
