Thanks to all you fellow TTOLers who helped us so much in making our first sail as a twosome an absolute success! We were in the BVI November 28-December 7 aboard the Vasilliki Moon, a 362 chartered out of the The Moorings. Our trip highlights include the new friends we have through TTOL. We were lucky enough to meet up with several TTOL regulars and spend time (and money!) with them. Tom and Cary (CaptTJ) (see BVI 2003 Sail I &II pictures) are a delightful couple that shared the Spaghetti Junction experience with us after the sail (yum!). This restaurant was recommended on the board and we concur after going there. You would benefit from reservations just in case it’s a busy night like we ran into. It is located right downtown on the water. Our last night was very special when Tom and Cary and Larry and I went to Brandywine for dinner, met Davide and Cele and YES! We met Jorgen and Miri and their crew! (See BVI 2003 Sail II Pictures). What a delight! The dinner, ambiance, and hospitality provided by Davide and Cele is not to be missed, and to share it with others from across the country and around the world only because of this board was amazing and a memory we will always treasure! Other new friends include a wonderful Taxi driver seemingly ‘based’ at the Moorings named Aaron. He became our regular driver and was helpful in ways that went above and beyond his normal duties. We would recommend others seeking out Aaron as a driver, as long as you promise to tip him well! Highlights of our trip (after the people) include: Snorkeling: George Dog for the first time (found the trench at the far west end that makes you feel you are in a scene from Finding Nemo, complete with turtles, Way Cool!). Trekking: Leverick Bay, taking pictures from the top looking out at Saba, and JVD taking pictures looking at the new anchorage at Little JVD....beautiful! ( check our Web shots). We will moor there next time. Dining: Harris’s , Little Harbour, JVD for lobster, Brandywine and Spaghetti Junction. Used Drinking Man’s guide for a free entree at Leverick Bay. Great deal on a great meal. Entertainment: Quito unplugged of course. 2nd place would be watching the ‘dingy’ novice me (Jane) driving the ding trying to catch up to a widely swinging boat after dinner at JVD......you would have been amused for a very long time. Sailing: absolutely spectacular! Great time of year to go. Again, thanks to all who encouraged us that just the two of us could do this....we had a blast! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/thanks.gif" alt="" /> Jane and Larry
