Reading your reports I get the vision the game drive vehicles have 6 seats including the drivers, is that correct? Is there a variety of vehicles configurations? Are they all open top or are there closed top? My assumption is open top is the way to go, is it? Did you sea open top that would accommodate 8 passengers in addition to driver/guide?

Thanks as always!

Yes they were for six plus the driver. Sort of tiered seating so everybody had an unobstructed view. We were there during dry season, so don't know if they can or could put a canvass top on them. Did not seem to be the case, but don't know.

Regarding for eight, I think it would have been possible to get eight in several of the jeeps we were in, but the camps that we went to they restricted the number to six or less. But then there were only single couples on any we were one. I am sure if it was a group, then they would have put that group together.

The jeeps were completely open on all sides. I am almost sure that we have some photos of the jeep in our pictures online, would have to look for it among all of them! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Also remember that the couple(s) that you would be with one day may or may not be there for any other day. Because you would go between camps any day of the week, maybe a camp for 2 days maybe 3 days, etc. It was rare to see the same couple at another camp.

I can't say anything about what other places use but this was one of our vehicles. Could hold 8 + driver, I guess. We never had more than 6.

Actually now that I think about it some, there was one camp that we were at that had a large group. In that case I seem to remember that they used two jeeps for the group and rode together. Not to say they could not have gotten more than six in the jeep, just that they did not want more in the jeep. They preferred to give everybody an excellent view and space for the cameras etc.
