Has anyone ever gotten their SXM number re-activated?

I had been SO DILIGENT about topping it up or extending the expiration every 60 days, but with the current state of affairs it got by me. Many other things in the world to obsess and worry over...lol

Thanks for the reminder to do a Top-Up on my French-side phone with Dauphin. I may have lapsed for a month, but they took my money.

If you have a top up card, you can activate your number on the website using some money from your card. I was late activating free this month and just used money from my card to do so. It is important to have a top up card and put money on it each time you go to the island.

I have a Top-Up card and always do it that way as I am not too trusting of the "free" extension. I take it this method has always worked for you?

I have been using the "free" extension to keep our number active without any difficulty for quite some time, but if you fail to extend your number at least every 60 days for free then the only way to use the "free" extension again is first to re-activate your number with a TopUp account. If you do not have a TopUp card account or are not on the island then there is an outfit here in the States that will obtain an account for you or add funds to an existing account. Chances are your number will not have been reassigned during the interim. Here is a link to their site:

Also, bear in mind that just because you have a positive pre-paid balance in your UTS/Chippie account does not guarantee your number will remain active if you have not been using it. The purpose of using the "free" extension or TopUp account is to keep your number active, that is to reserve it for your use and not allow it to be reassigned to someone else. After re-activating your number with a transfer from your TopUp account you should be able to resume using the "free" extension service.

THANK YOU ALL!!! Especially to Elizabeth and cacapasa. It worked. Thankfully whenever I find a top-up terminal I would add $20 to the card, so I was able to drop $1 onto it.

Expiration Date 19-Oct-2020

I get to keep my phone number that everyone knows.... wink

Love my island friends.

Congrats!

With my French-side phone from Dauphin, I need to use it or add money to it every three months. I can't use it in the US, so adding money is the only option. Fortunately, I can drop $5 onto it online, and that is what I have been doing. The way that things are going travel-wise, I'm going to be able to make a heck of a lot of calls when I return to the island, LOL. But, like you, I will keep my number.

Lol...I know what you mean...I'm gonna have a huge balance. But that is ok, last year I activated data on my phone...so a little browsing IF I EVER GET TO GO BACK will do the trick. wink

I too have a French-side phone from Dauphin, but I was told I only need to add funds ever 18 months. I am quite sure that I have already gone longer that 12 months...
