Hi all-
Given what we know and don't know about travel to Islands in late December, I am starting to look into options for arrival. We had previously booked flights into STT with the intention of water taxi to west end as is our usual practice. However, with uncertainties abounding, I am starting to think about looking into air charter option from STT-EIS. Anybody have a good reco for providers and maybe a rough idea of cost? There will be 7 of us.
Thanks in advance!

I e-mailed VIAirlink weeks ago and never got a response, which didn't inspire confidence. Try Island Birds.

We rerouted to EIS through SJU. We fly Delta and they were able to ticket the entire route (SJU-EIS leg via Silver). You can book STT-EIS via VI Airlink directly on their website - two scheduled flights each day. More options out of SJU.

Word is that ferries may start running on Dec 1..we are holding out hope for that.

With 7, I would go for a private water taxi over a ferry if you can't get a flight into EIS.

Again, which is assuming that ferries and water taxis are allowed into the territory, which isn't clear as of now.

Yes, private water taxi is definitely our usual method or arrival with this size group. However, not totally confident that it will be an option, as Carol notes below.

There is not enough airline capacity to warrant opening up if they don’t open the ports. If they open I am confident at least one ferry port will be open.

George, the hospitality industry will appreciate ANY visitors. Guana, Necker and Mosquito would probably be happy with private jets! I also believe the other carriers into Beef will add flights once it becomes clear that visitors can get in without too much hassle. My guess is they may start that way to see how it goes with regard to Covid.

Many tourists do come by ferry, but it would still be worth opening without them, IMHO. The other issue is locals wanting to go back and forth on the ferries, and how that might be handled.
