This was year 18 we visited our home away from home.Didn't do much besides sit in a loungechair on the beach, swim in the turquoise waters of Mullet Bay beach, and eat wonderful food!!!
For you fellow Towers' owners, I'm happy to report the outside of the building has been power washed, the landscaping looks lush, and most of the apartments have been refurbished from floors 8 to 4- they're working their way down. The entire resort is spotless as usual. Same friendly faces at the desk and pool area.
We're not into gourmet meals so we dined at the Boathouse, Turtle Pier, Cheri's , Banana's and Ric's Place. Ate my share of coconut shrimp and mahi-mahi and grouper. Ate more than my share of Etna ice cream!!! There's nothing like it!
The new grocery store in the lower level of Maho's La Terrasse is wonderful. We found diet Pepsi, Etna, and lots of yummy baked goods. It's got a full selection of wines, cheeses, prepared food, meat, veggies, etc. Prices were some of the lowest we saw. Cigarettes (hubby's a smoker, sad to say) were the cheapest there- $9.50 a carton. Coming from Conn. where they're over $40, it's a real savings.
Most stores open in Maho - very busy place. We especially enjoyed the 9 pm show put on by the dancers from the Casino Royale- they dance in the streets and over to the front of the shops on the other side. It lasted about 30 minutes.
All in all, 8 days is way too short a trip- hope we can stay longer next year.
