We are chartering our 1st USVI trip in February.
I'm looking for a recommendation for a restaurant that
serves Caribbean lobster.

IF they were outdoors, on picnic tables with tiki torches
and our feet in the sand, so much the better!

Duggan's Reef - 20 min east of Christiansted, St Croix. Waterfront dining. Excellent seafood including reasonably priced (by BVI standards) baked lobster and lobster thermidor.

In Cruz Bay - Lime Inn and Morgan's Mango.

I like how you think Baard - just swing by St Croix if you need some lobster. That's probably a less than three hour trip for the Saba I'm guessing? God Jul!

Fastest crossing so far was in early-November - 3.5 hrs from Christiansted to Christmas Cove - averaged 9.5 kts with 1st reefed main and genoa.

We did 3.5 hours from Christiansted to Salt Pond in our 45 Beneteau. Averaged about 9 and that was pulling a dingy. So in your 50 I would have guessed you would have done better. I must have had better wind or maybe I didn't start the clock until I had the sails up.

That's a great time. It's about 1.6 nm further to Christmas Cove than Ram Head/Salt Pond. I start my clock when then sails are up in the anchorage. I've found the flood and ebb tidal current can add or subtract 20 minutes or more to the crossing particularly around the full and new moon.

If the lobster doesn’t make me relish the trip, the sailing certainly does!
How does this compare to a VG to Anegada trip? A little longer, Deeper water, steady winds, but beam reaches?
We’re looking at late Jan, early Feb. haven’t done it before and any insight is welcome.

Almost 3x longer than VG to Anegada. No hiding behind Horseshoe Reef, so significantly bigger seas. No parade of boats like VG to Anegada - might see 1 or 2 boats in the distance - which can be either exhilarating or disconcerting.
