Not that this is related to the Caribbean, but Greece today announced they are opening up tourism this summer. They are ditching mandatory quarantines and allowing tourists from over 30 countries to enter Greece and the Greek Islands for those who show proof of a COVID vaccination. The need for a negative COVID test has also been dropped. One in five jobs in Greece hinges on tourism which is responsible for over twenty percent of Greece's GDP. Given this, my hope is that St. Maarten's Ministry of Tourism sees this and does likewise very soon.
