Good morning everyone! We are looking for 2022 owner's time for a 43 PC for next June. We have just completed our 5th trip since 2016 and have about 8 weeks of time under our belts. My wife and I travel with our two teenage daughters (not a party boat) and we try to return the boats in as good or better condition than we found them.

I'm interested in purchasing two weeks with a sleep aboard up front, so we hope there is some appeal for an owner to sell both of their weeks to one person that is experienced and takes care of the boats. We have always used owner's time, so we understand the process. We can also share a few references of current Moorings owners (unfortunately they have either sold their boats or are phasing out). We also know Chris at the base well and he has seen how we treat and return the boats.

My information is below if you are interested in talking. Thank you!

sorry we didn't catch up...maybe next time. Lots of really bad boating this time so hope you find your owners as they should be lucky to have you. I spent time listening to the people that were captaining 514PC's and the boat that actually sunk and their level of experience was frightening. I think some companies were willing to use the "fog the mirror" test to get captains and the lack of in person chart briefings didn't help.

I think part of the problem is that it is completely up to the charter guest to be honest. When we first chartered with the moorings back in 2009, I just filled out a resume and was approved. The only time we ever had to do a test run with a skipper was the one time we took out the Moorings 5800. I guess for the most part it works, but there's always going to be the few that slip through the cracks.

good point...that is probably most of the problem.

CYOA takes the charter skipper out for a test sail in Charlotte Amalie harbor. You find out very quickly if they have the needed skllls or not to handle the boat. I'm sure this expectation intimidates some prospective clients but I think it has helped to significantly weed out the credit card captains. As an owner in their fleet for 6.5 years, my boat came out of service in excellent condition. I would rather forego a couple CCC charters than to deal with their aftermath. Let Dream Yacht or Moorings rent to them (and pity the boat owners)..

Rob, I hate that we missed you as well. My wife’s favorite places in the BVI are “where it is calm” so I was focused on the wind and getting to calm places without putting her through too much. She loves it there - except when the boat is rolling!

We were fortunate enough to meet some other forum celebrities - George and Malcom! Great guys - we saw a rare version of the Elmtones with a guest harmonica player and singer. Malcom was having a good time and we saw for the first time why this band is such a hit. Our plan is to be there again for a few weeks next June, so I hope we can meet and have a drink then if you will be there again. Until then, be well!

LOL my brother...on my wife's top 100 things to do cruising around the BVI on a powercat doesnt crack the list so my boat days may be numbered unless she leaves me for her trophy husband...

Will be at STT in Oct and then Pink House JVD in December so will be land based for a little while to try that. Didn't meet George but we got to trade balls (mooring of course) between Guana and CGB.

Did meet MIDivr and her husband and their really stunning new sailcat and spent 4 days moored next to them. Next to seeing old local friends meeting TTOLers is the best and always grateful for the wisdom shared with me on this board

Also got to spend some time with my brother from a different mother Dale at Moorings who was captaining a boat moored next to us...

I have owned boats for 45 years and chartered in the BVI 17 times. I was fortunate enough to use CYOA four times when they had two power cats. They are by far the most professional in the Islands. If I was crazy enough to put my boat in a charter fleet, they would be the only one. Ive used, VIP, Moorings and Trawlers in Paradise when they were in business. I would have ranked TIP up there with the best as well at that time.
