we tried to visit on Friday night but no tables were available as well as Saturday night when they feature a DJ
We made reservations for a few days later
the décor is island tropical and vibrant along the lagoon, really cool
I decided to try a hand crafted cocktail from their highly boasted mixologist only to find about 10 minutes after ordering that they couldn't make mu drink because the regular bartender was off for the evening
I did make a second selection which was very good
The server also was able to recommend a drink for my wife which was also very good
Overall the service was very good
we tried the combination appetizer of lobster cakes, duck wontons and foie gras. only the foie gras was worth ordering again.
really couldn't distinguish any lobster but more like a seafood cake while the duck filling was good it was overwhelmed by the fried wonton
we saw almost everyone ordering steaks and we continued by ordering the combination of filet, rib eye and hanger steak ($81) which included 2 starches, we upgraded to gratin and truffle parmesan (another $5) and added two tiny sauces at $4 each
surprised a steak house doesn't have a complementary sauce even if it is A1

Recommendation stick to the steaks which were properly cooked and delicious

We were there in June and instead of ordering a dinner entrees just got 5 appetizers, had them brought out to us all at once. All were very tasty and we enjoyed them with a bottle of red wine. This was our second time there and we wil definitely go there in November again. Totally enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.

Life is short, travel the World.

It’s been a while since we were last there in April but it seems to me DH had a rib eye and I had lamb and both were delicious. The only remotely negative thing I can recall was their wine pour was a little on the lite side for the price. This is not something I picked up on but it was pointed out to me by someone far more knowledgable in this department than me and I trust his judgement. Food, service and setting were all lovely on each visit and we’ve had a few.

On another occasion we attended a dinner party there for approximately 30 to 40 diners. Only problem, a miscommunication between staff and organizer had the restaurant expecting us for a cocktail party and not dinner. They rapidly recovered and reorganized and some, myself included, didn’t know about the confusion over the reservation until later. They handled the mistake beautifully, or at least, I thought they did but rumor has it I tend to be very forgiving! 😊😊

Respectfully,

pat

Pat--yes, I know about that 'wine pour' situation. We would resolve that by ordering a bottle! grin

Two glasses is my max and J doesn’t drink so that would be wasted on us, particularly given the difference in wine prices from restaurants to stores…..😊😊

Yeah, I get ya, but most places in SXM will let you take anything you don't drink, with you.
