I post today to cheer the news that the annual maintenance fee for a one bedroom suite at the RL La Plage will be $915 for the upcoming year. The annual fee for 2022 remains the same as for 2021. Overall, the fees for the RI La Plage seem to have remained lower than comparable resorts. Similarly, when there have been increases, the AMF has risen more slowly over the years. Although the RI was heavily damaged in the hurricane of 2018 and in prior storms, the resort management have not levied special assessments. My experience as an owner has been much more positive than the complaints heard from time-share owners at other resorts on the island.

I'm a twenty year plus owner at the RI and have never had a complaint. The resort is extremely well maintained without gounging the members. The staff is incredible and the grounds beautifully maintained. Of course the AMF increases a reasonable amount every year - what doesn't? The old saying is that "you get wht you pay for" - I feel at the RI we do a little better than that.

I agree with ALL the posts on this so far. I have over thirty years now at the resort, and have NEVER have complained about the way we have been treated over the years. Yes, fees have increased over the thirty years, but never an assesment, and never more than a couple of percent annually. Once again, kudos to the the Spadarros for making a lot of timeshare owners once again happy for the holidays!! Can't wait for Mid March. smile

That's good. Flamingo MF's actually went down this year which was a shock.

What are the AMF's for a one bedroom at Flamingo? As well as the other sized units?

La Vista and Atrium are in that same $900 range. Presently at RILP in our unit, no complaints.

I prefer the Isle seat

Totals including reserves of around $100.00 to $116.15 at Flamingo are:
1 bed $1292.19
2 bed lockout $1632.67
Studio $1415.59
They really increased the amenities with the addition of more palapas, on site Gym and outside fire pit next to covered BBQ area. Grounds are immaculate.

Youโ€™d best not complain - assuming itโ€™s the unit we visited - your unit is gorgeous! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

A deluxe 1 bedroom is $1482.41. Not sure of the difference but the 2 bed lockouts are also 1 bed units with washer/dryer so that could be it.

Are the one bedroom units in a different building than the main building? Perhaps people prefer being in the main building? Otherwise, that makes NO sense. I personally much prefer a separate bedroom.

There are 1 bedroom units in building 7 which i imagine you are referring to main building. Also villa buildings 3-4 and 6 are 2 bed lockouts that are great 1 bedrooms each with individual washer/dryers if locked out. One bedrooms in building 7 don't have those in rooms.

You pay $900.00 dollars for every week you own??? I would hate to be a multi week owner or god forbid own the entire year!!! That would only be around $50,000 per year. On TV shows when they talk about people buying condos in the carib they are talking about prices usually less than 900 bucks and its for the entire month. To each his own.

kccouple--I think you misapprehend what timeshare is. No one buys timeshare for the whole year. Most people buy two or three weeks at most.. And it costs a WHOLE lot more than $900 a month to buy a condo in the Caribbean..

Correct. I'm at 4 weeks but thinking about getting rid of one week.

i own three weeks a LaPlage, and it is the best investment we ever made. Where else can you be guaranteed an ocean front room, fully furnished, for less than a grand a week? We love our timeshare, and have been very thankful for it for over thirty years.

We feel the same except ours is more money. To know what unit you have on specific dates you can rely on saves a bunch on air fare by booking early. I don't regret our ownership at all.

I "own" timeshares in two locations...SXM and LAS.....and have enjoyed them for MANY, MANY years..(inherited the SXM unit) ..no regrets AT ALL,..but I cringe when they are referred to as "investments".

Correct. Not an investment unless you consider it investing in vacation time guaranteed.

It was an ''investment'' in our lives. Over thirty years of happiness. i would say that was a a very good investment for us. This investment initially was not made as a monetary one, it was made for years of happiness. It has paid off thousands of times over. smile
