I need help finding the information I need. We have friends joining us in St Maarten, mid February. They recently had Covid. They are both boostered so they wouldn’t need a test to get into St Maarten. How do they get back to the US if they are still testing positive. Obviously they won’t come if there is not a solution. Can anyone direct me to information. Thank you.

The most current information is on the EHAS website and also a link to the mandatory Covid insurance that would come into play IF they do test positive. It is still up to the passenger to get home on their own accord but only after following the local insurance protocol.

I looked into it, Dr note with proof of when tested positive. I was positive 12/26. Took a rapid 1/8 as I was curious and already showing negative.

But what if you happen to test positive when on the island and just prior to your planned departure back to the US? Does this cover it? Based upon the consistent inconsistency of the approval process, it would have me very concerned.

Why would you test positive at that point, if you had already tested negative?

False positive or negative, it has been known to happen. I know people who have taken multiple tests, within days, and they are not always the same result. One could also get the virus again while on the island.

Exactly. More likely to get a false negative than a false positive. Having made the trip 8 times in 2021, it’s pretty simple. The issues have been more the wait time with EHAS in the beginning. Testing can be difficult. But last few trips I have used the home tests to enter the island without issue and have used them to return to the US without issue. Purchased from emed.com. Will get boosted within the next few weeks. And when I return to the US 3/14 will used the rapid home test. But will also have note from Doctor as I’m still within the 90 days. But of course you risk being infected again - that’s another issue!!!!!
