We are staying on the Dutch Side in April, what are peoples thoughts and experiences about going to dinner at either Tropicana or Le Cigale. We love both restaurants but concerned about safety.

Personally, I would not go to the Marigot marina at night, so Tropicana would be out for me. I'm not sure where Le Cigale is located.

Although we never had a problem, we just get an uneasy feeling traveling through Sandy Ground.
You may shoot over the new bridge and back track down to La Cigale

Le Cigale is a beautiful setting on the lagoon and the food was good but not outstanding.
They did deliver the check with a mention the tip is not included, shady in my opinion.
Won't go back for that reason

I agree with pony about not going to the marina at night. Tropicana is a great restaurant though. Lately when we have gone there, we have gone on Saturday for lunch. Le Cigale is in Sandy Ground. Wouldn't go there at night either.

Would suggest either Orient Village or Grand Case at night, or one of the beach bars on Orient during the day. Depending on the season also some of the beach bars on Orient are open at night a couple days a week.
