One last trip to Mullet Bay today was not to be. I got there a little after 10:00, got second row as the waves were encroaching the first row. The waves were huge and sometimes violent. Within about 10 minutes a wave washed well past the second row and a lot of shoes were washed away. I had a beach bag on a small cooler that got turned over. Two cell phones, car keys and money/ID all took a ride. All seems to be unaffected but I was very concerned about the phones. Chester was generous and gave me a pass after having supported him three previous days. I was there less than an hour and decided to leave as I did not anticipate conditions improving. People who did venture into the water were getting rolled pretty regularly.
In many years and many visits to Mullet Bay, I have only seen it rougher perhaps one other time. Oh well.

Wow, sounds pretty bad. Sorry for the unhappy ending. I have heard that people have put their cell phone into a bunch of rice before and that draws out the moisture somehow. I would definitely try to keep the phone in the a/c and watch it to see if you have any issues with it.

GEBE power outage now and no generator here for about 30 minutes. Some areas have been restored but are still out here. I heard something on the radio about some areas have been restored.
The phones got a little damp but seem to be ok so far.

Yes, a generator but it did not kick on for about 30 minutes.

Wow, OK, and I guess the boardwalk has NOT been repaired? How shocking. Not.

My thoughts exactly, Scuba. I loved Mullet Bay Beach prior to this new upscale development and Rosie still has some of the best dry tub ribs on the island.
I can’t wait to hear how the local holiday weekend beach goers feel about this development. Who knows - maybe they’ll like it - or not.
Easter weekend could prove to be interesting. Wait until the first 14 owner tries to declare it a private beach. Yikes!!
Respectfully,

Maybe Mullet was angry about the new beach bar. I saw on one of the Facebook groups that it's now open. The chairs look really low to the ground. I had been told that they opened today.

Walked down to check out the new restaurant on Mullet today. Just opened so I asked to look at a menu and they handed me a folded paper with a QR to their web site. I downloaded th menu and it is rather expensive for a beach bar. Here is the menu. . The beach chairs are low but they have a thick cushion. $30 for two loungers, umbrella, 2 waters and two towels. Place looks nice, but not my taste. Strictly a fan of Rosie's.

That’s an expensive menu for a beach bar, for sure! Let’s see if they will be able to survive on these prices. After all, it’s a free market and I’m sure they will end up adjusting to the current times and needs… The place looks very nice indeed.
