We’ll be on the island for three weeks, so will try to post every 3-4 days. We arrived Friday afternoon on American Airlines: Kansas City – Miami – St. Maarten. Through immigration and in rental car from AAA within 30 minutes. Off to the Villas on Great Bay for our three week stay. Did our grocery shopping at Carrefour. Everyone was tired after being up early for our flight, so dinner was at the Greenhouse in Philipsburg. Arrived in time for happy hour and stayed for dinner. The fish tacos were good. The burger, which was ordered medium, was raw through half of the inside.

Saturday: Did our morning walk down to the boardwalk and then shopped on the way back on Front Street. It was nice to see more shops open from when we were on the island in October. Had coffee and pastries at La Sucriere, which has a small shop on Old Street (off of Front Street). Delicious almond chocolate croissant, spinach quiche, and coffee latte. Very good and Liz was very nice. They have a more limited supply of pastry but convenient for us. We spent the afternoon lounging by the pool and enjoying the ocean view. Thanks to everyone on TTOL who had posted how good the grouper fingers are at SMYC as we decided to go there to watch the drawbridge to up and the yachts/boats to go through. We had drinks, coconut shrimp and the grouper fingers, which were excellent - very light coating and delicious flavor. Drinks were $2 for a limited selection of beers and $4 for mixed drinks. We will definitely go back!

Sunday: Started the day with coffee and then took our morning walk. Had 11:30 reservations at Emilio’s for their Sunday brunch. This was our first time at Emilio’s and it was fantastic. Breakfast items, salads, lunch items, a grill area, and dessert. It was a bargain at $29.99. Relaxed a bit at the villa then needed to work brunch off by exploring La Belle Creole. We looked through some of the buildings then walked along the beach there over to David’s Hole. It was a fun place to visit. Ended our day just relaxing and having a light dinner at the villa.

I searched and found some directions on how to add photos to my post, but couldn’t figure it out. If someone can explain it me (a not-technical person), I’ll add some to my next post!

Doug--sounds like a good beginning!! I'm not big on buffets, but I might try Emilio's..

As far as pictures, it's pretty easy. Click on USE FULL EDITOR. Then click on ATTACHMENT MANAGER. Pick your files to upload and you're done.

Hope you sent that burger back. Medium isn't raw. Especially with a burger.
