So just like yesterday before I do this post, the obligatory walk on the beach by myself at 6am with the sun. Over to Good Morning for more pastries. It's become a bit of joke as to what yummy treats will be here in the morning when everyone wakes. But honestly I love the solitude of the morning and my little routine. But enough about this morning, let's talk about yesterday!!

Like I said above, the day started with a walk, a swim and pastries. Almond croissants and beignets (chocolate and apple). Coffee on the patio listening to the quietness of the village in the morning and plotting the day. We carb loaded with butter and made our way over to Orange Fever not Orange Beach. (Thanks Scuba!) for the day. The missus' favorite color is orange so it was only fitting to go there for the day. And it was a great choice. $20 for 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas. Oh those chairs!! So comfortable with the cushions, it may bring us back just for those. We hunkered down in the front row on the side of Kontiki.
Started the day off with a carib & rum punch for myself, a aperol spritz for Andie and bottle of prosecco for the missus. We had found a boogie board at the villa so the Irish Cannonball was loving life.

Noon came around and I decided to order snacks for our group. Tuna tartare w/ frites & salad, Accras, and calamari. There seems to be a running theme with a few of these items. The tuna was a HIT! The boy couldn't get enough of it. It was so tasty and topped with a little guac. So delicious. (Forgot to take pics).
The ladies shifted to their teenage years and ordered some pina coladas, they looked dangerously good with a heavy float of rum on top.
Our relatives joined us right around the lunch hour, got a bottle of prosecco also and the afternoon kicked off.
We decided to support some of the locals selling gear. I got the boy a bracelet and shark tooth necklace, and a bracelet for the missus. Andie and her bought some cover-ups also. It's not an easy gig to hustle up and down that beach all day trying to sell.
The afternoon was coming to what seemed like a close so I ordered a couple pizzas for us all at Orange beach. OH man. Talk about scratching an itch I had for thin crust pies..... we opted for the Regina (Ham,mushrooms & olives) and the Orange Beach (garlic & shrimp). We must have looked like animals just swarming those two pizzas. We grabbed one last drink and headed back to the villa for evening pool time and relaxing.

The evening plan was to do charcuterie as usual, but I wanted more pizza. So I strolled down to the village and went to Bo Pizza. And I am so glad I did. Talk about another itch being scratched with thin crust pizza. I ordered 3 pies (Dijonnaise, Indienne, Cannibale) and a calzone. Had a couple cold Heinekens while people watching waiting for the pies. Man do I love the village and the culture. Seeing families, couples and everyone just milling about fills my soul. Made my way back to the villa and again we devoured it. As I was leaving Bo, the owner/chef?, made sure I took some of the hot sauce in small packets with me. And he was right, it was a hot oil that I couldn't get enough of. I think there's some leftover in the fridge that may be breakfast along with pastries this morning. The evening wrapped up with full bellies and fuller hearts. Some times I think it's possible to solve the world's problems over food and drink. We didn't solve them last night but we will try again today and tomorrow.

I attached the menu to Bo pizza. And a pic of the pizza from Orange Beach. Now we wait for the rest of the crew to wake and figure out what's in store!!!

Enjoying your reports, keep up the good work. If we can't be there the next best thing is reading reports of those who are.

What fantastic reporting Beans. I am just catching up as I have been out of commission due to a "minor" medical procedure that turned out to be not so minor. Bummer. But these reports are taking me right back to my happy place, Orient. Husband also revels in his early morning solitude, walk, and pastry raid. And all that food and drink sound divine. Yes, good food, wine, and company.. nothing better.

Another interesting report. We also always enjoy the Village and its culture.

I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.

I'm enjoying reading your daily updates--all sounds wonderful. We stay on the Dutch side so you are giving us a good bird's eye view of what life would be like staying over in Orient. Sounds delightful! Look forward to the next installment.
