Where is the best/most economical place to buy lobster (fresh or frozen) to cook in our condo. I have seen them frozen at Carrefour but am wondering if there is a better place to get them.

I want to say I saw a place between Orient and Hope Estates. It was the same side as Al Dente.

Where are you staying? I think there is a place by the Yacht Club in Simpson Bay that sells lobster. Also in Marigot.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy frozen lobster. You will definitely be able to get fresh and the taste and texture is waaaaay better.

For live lobster you can cook at the condo you can buy at Mr Lobster on airport road beside the Red Cross. They are on WhatsApp or phone at 721-585-8585.

I am also in Maho. Mr Lobster is about a five-minute drive on Airport Road to the left of the Red Cross location. There is a sign. The live lobsters are pretty large but that is pretty typical for down there. Usually 2 lbs and up.

I have bought there before and cooked myself. Lots of butter and garlic 😃.

Cheers

Well you know how it goes for lobster. Market price.
It was around $13 a pound. But that could bounce up depending on supply and demand of course. If you call that number when you're there they will quote you the price per pound. They will also quote you a price per kilo.

Still they are live and you can cook them yourself. Nothing like a freshly cooked lobster.

Hi - bringing up an old thread, ok? - is Mr. Lobster still a thing? Has anyone been there recently? I make a very nice garlic and olive oil aioli that we serve with cold lobster and homemade potato chips 🙂
