I got Verifly set up to use going to SXM just in case it would be accepted. The interesting thing is that, while you upload your vax QR code (copy of vax cards not accepted as there's no QR code on them), you do not upload your EHAS form; you just answer yes that you have received it. As I mentioned in another thread, my QR code had to be manually reviewed as Oregon Health Authority wasn't on their accepted list of places authorized to provide QR code. Ridiculous.

I was able to print boarding passes at home which I have never been able to do before on an international flight; I assume that was because of Verifly. I did not want to print luggage tags at the kiosk because, as a first-class traveler, I want the orange "priority" tags along with regular tags on my luggage. At the counter I told the clerk that I had Verifly. He asked to see it on my phone, and I didn't have to show anything else. While it was easy for me to not have to show paperwork, I think it's a flaw in Verifly that you don't have to upload your EHAS form. I could have answered yes to the question whether or not I had it.

So Verifly does speed things up, and more so if you use it as SXMFOX described in the other thread.

Linda--our vax cards do not have ANY QR codes on them at all. Issued by our local Florida Dept of Health. So, I guess we can't do it regardless?

And yes, that is an issue, that you don't even have to have the EHAS form, but I assume maybe they checked it when you landed?

Just take photos of your vax card, EHAS approval, or any other required documents, download them into Verifly when prompted and ask for manual approval. Usually only takes an hour or two to receive approval. Not difficult and no qr codes required.

My cards don't have QR codes either. But I was able to request a QR code from Oregon Health Authority, which was received pretty quickly after I requested it. Just make sure you have a cell phone on file with your state authority so they can send you a text. Then Verifly had to manually approve the QR code, which took a little longer. Start this process several days ahead of time.

CaribLee - Verifly did not ask to see my EHAS form. Initially I tried to upload copies of my vax card. That's when they said no QR code detected and to upload a QR code, which I did. Perhaps the QR code I uploaded sufficed and that's why they didn't ask for EHAS form. I dunno.

True. I too was a bit shocked that the EHAS was just a "yes" question with no confirmation. In fact no one even looked at our EHAS until we got to PJIA. We were able to complete the VeriFly with just our downloaded vaccine cards however. That plus Global Entry made every fairly easy at the airports. AA was slammed in Nashville at 4am and even with prechecking in etc the line was long. VeriFly was a bit of a hot mess as the app kept crashing on us but once it synced up to AA all went smoothly. But we are here and that is all that matters.

Do your vax cards have QR codes? Mine does not, and Verifly refused it because it didn't have the code. Once I uploaded the code, that was all I had to upload.

Yes, being here is all that matters. Where are you staying?

Yes, Global Entry does help, but that was only at my originating airport. Didn't need it at CLT.

Linda--sorry, too much drama. Not going to bother.

I’m glad I was able to help in some small way. Just to let everyone know and clear some confusion, the app talks directly to your airline in the background. Also when you answer yes about your EHAS form in the app (pre-approval into SXM), the app is communicating in the background with SXM to double check that you indeed did receive pre-approval to enter SXM, its not that it just took your word for it. I hope this clears the air. Once you start using the verifly app, it will make your life so much simpler. Also to clarify if you are flying first class, once you scan your ticket through the kiosk at the airport, it will print those pretty orange first class luggage tags out for you. I believe there is some confusion about the app its self, contactless, paperless and easy. One of the points of the app is that you no longer need to wait in those long lines to talk to an agent, the app has already done that for you. Hope this helps

One more thought on verifly. This is the new wave of the future coming from the airlines. So we might as well go thru the growing pains of the app and embrace it and just move forward, for better or worse. But seriously, it really does make travel much easier

We just have the standard vax card, no code. I just downloaded it for manual review. Our Global Entry/TSA precheck line at BNA was a 10th of the regular line. That has paid for itself over and over.

The more I can do in advance to make the airport experience quicker and easier, the better.

To each his/ her own. I would just as soon have someone at the counter put my tags on for me. There was no one else in the priority line at Portland so I didn't have to wait.
