There are always lots of ads in the Daily Herald for restaurants doing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, mostly on the Dutch side. I have to say though, we haven't been on TG for a while, but the last time we were on SXM at TG, we sought out a restaurant on Orient that was serving traditional TG dinner (I think it was Bikini Beach, which of course is now gone), and then ordered off the regular menu! It's just not the same.

Like GaKaye, we prefer to have a non-traditional meal. Can always make turkey at home!

That's fine, you can still celebrate it that way, even on SXM. We always have turkey at home, but somehow on SXM, it doesn't seem necessary. I have a whole lot more here I could say, but I won't.

People often ask why our Fall trip is always scheduled around Thanksgiving and we choose to spend it at home rather than on de islon………. Just ask my daughter about that. Almost every year she hosts our traditional family Thanksgiving with anywhere from 25 to 40 guests. Everyone brings, bakes and makes and a good time is had by all. And she makes it look so easy…..she has that talent.
Respectfully,

With all due respect… Turkey w/ stuffing, hot gravy, and all sides is a must! Pumpkin pie and an American tradition is still important to some of us.

Your two comments seem contradictory. I definitely agree with the second one, and always look forward to our beachy Thanksgiving with our friends on the island.
