I was trying to reserve a car on the SAX website and came to the part where they said you must provide evidence of third party liability insurance or they will add it to the rate. What does this mean? Do they add the $8/day cost for liability insurance. I normally refuse the liability insurance.

I used them in March of 2022 and did not encounter what you are describing. I just went in to do a trial booking and saw the option for the insurance but did not proceed with booking. I would send them an email or call for clarification.

Thanks. Did they require you add the liability insurance when you rented from them?

If I'm not mistaken Liability insurance is supposed to be provided by the company and not an added fee on the Dutch side. Hertz includes that in their quote to comply with that.
