Three amigos still has a nice mushroom chicken.

Driftwood punch is still same $ as last year and just as potent.

The surprise so far was Toppers dinner. Everyone’s meal was SPOT ON.

Hoping to experience Marigot Carnival tonight night.

captain - any information on the parking situation would be appreciated. Where did you park, was it accessible after the road closed, could you leave before the road opened back up, etc.

Thanks and have fun

Saw this on Facebook.
"Hello everyone
We regret to confirm that, by prefectural order, "Mardis de grand case" (Grand Case Tuesdays) *will not take place tonight.*

We had considered postponing it to Wednesday(Tomorrow),
but despite two days and two nights of work by our teams,
despite the goodwill :
-of all the departments of the Com
-the territorial police,
-the gendarmerie
-the legal and technical department
and most despite the great motivation of our artists and our exhibitors,
It was impossible for us to obtain all the necessary authorizations for the organization of an event of such a scale.

Our artists and dancers remain motivated: we have decided to postpone our carnival evening to next Tuesday!

We hope that the entire population will attend in festive attire to celebrate with us next Tuesday.

Nevertheless, all merchants and our gourmet restaurants & lolos await you to savor the delight of our beloved Grand Case.

*Organizers*"

This same info was posted this morning at 8am on another thread about Mardis De Grande Case. This thread is about Carnaval in Marigot, which is taking place this evening.

Be Happy! Simply because you deserve to be. 😁

Chilling at driftwood and will get to photos next week.

So we did Mardi Gras, the proper carnival of the islands, in Marigot on Tuesday night.

Parked by Gout au Vin around 1400 and walked up to Rue de la Republique. I asked a few local ladies on a bench what time the carnival parade would come through and they said, 3:15, 3:30.

Of course, this meant 4pm. They started at the stadium and worked their way up through the waterfront. Loud beautiful compas and artistry in the costumes.

We heard the harminynifgt Grand Case was moved a day over but having spent a long day circling the island by boat, we were too wiped and passed….thankfully given the news above.

You have all been so generous with your time and advice through the years so expect a full trip report once stateside.
