Well, I know Bermuda isn't really in the Caribbean, but wasn't sure where to put this.
Gonzalo has weakened slightly but is still a very dangerous category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 125 mph and is forecasted to pass very close to Bermuda, with 18.3 miles as the closest point of approach. The estimated time of when the center of the storm will be at that location is in about 9 hours and 60 minutes from now (Friday, October 17 at 10:18PM AST).
At least Bermuda has had more time to prepare for this storm than those in St. Maarten/St. Martin. Our thoughts are with all those on Bermuda today.

Lots of power out, roads closed still due to them being impassable and some boats damaged is what I've heard so far. Eye went right over them. No loss of life reported.

Hopefully no one did lose their life.. It's awful to lose 'stuff', but lives cannot be replaced.

My sister was in Bermuda during the hurricane. A lot of people tried to leave the island before the storm hit. There were still about 30 people staying at Rosedon Guest House, where she was staying. On the Friday morning, after breakfast, all guests were told to come to the main house to ride out the storm. They were provided with meals and an open bar. They never lost power - the hotel staff had assured them that they would not be sitting in the dark. Following the storm, people were allowed to go back to their rooms. Also, every member of the hotel staff came in to work, to help with the clean up.
She said they could not do much for a few days - roads were impassable, buses and ferries were not running. The airport was closed until about 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday. The weather immediately following the hurricane was beautiful, apparently.
This is the third hurricane she has been through there.
