Hi Everyone. We will be returning to St.Martin after five years. We are very excited to be returning and reconnecting with friends. The last time we were there just before the Civic shutdown.
When we went to Bake Rouge, the effects of the hurricane were still visible. Have the villas started to be reconstructed? I know Raymond and Gus are no longer there. Is there anyone renting chairs and umbrellas? Do people still frequent the beach close to the lot as well as the west end? We would love to visit, but want to know if visitors still go there. It was so empty back in 2018. Thanks everyone for your help.

We went in January. It was my first trip to Baie Rouge, so I don't know what it was like before, but I walked down the beach and there were several villas. No one renting chairs, but several people along the beach.

We were there yesterday, no one renting chairs or umbrellas, beach had about 30 people, most around by the parking lot but a couple further out on the west side, we set up halfway around and had no one near us by 100 yards.

Baie Rouge is one of the very few non commercial naturally pristine beaches on SXM. The Gov shut down the beach restaurants years ago for lack of electric , water and other basic health issues and proper business license etc. Just carry in what you need for the day. Wonderful and private.
