Our working holiday at Mary’s Boon has gotten off to a great start. We’ve been coming here for years and love the Studio units on the beach with a small kitchenette. The BEST part, other than the warm and wonderful people who work here, is the ability to walk down the steps of your unit, sink into the sand and then walk straight into the turquoise water. For us, it’s absolute heaven. We work a little in the morning, then head out and enjoy the island with peace of mind that our clients back home are happy and no one knows we’re away. It’s our bonus vacation.

The weather has been a little cloudy due to an unstable airmass so there has been a little rain but we don’t care. It’s better we’re not in full sun the first few days anyway. Plus, the ocean has calmed down a bit according to the front office so the swimming is awesome. The Sargassum weed hasn’t been too bad and the staff at the Boon have been doing a great job of cleaning the beach.

We decided to have a few meals at The Boon and we scored a front row table with the waves rolling on shore just a few feet away. The fish tacos for lunch were amazing with grilled local Mahi- Mahi, lettuce and a zippy sauce. For dinner, Gary and I had the Tempura Shrimp which were out of this world, then hubby had the Spaghetti Carbonara and I had the Thai Curried Shrimp. This dish is my favourite and I was so glad it was still on the menu. The vegetables and rice were done to “al dente” perfection topped with shrimp that were sweet and tender. And the curry sauce- absolutely swoonable! We ordered a nice, buttery Chardonnay that complemented everything nicely.

Tomorrow it’s back to our workout regimen -LOL - but it was a wonderful day filled with fun and great food.

Teresa--sounds lovely. One of the things we love best about Beachside is how much in touch we are with the ocean. I don't want anything between me and that beautiful water!

Enjoy!!

Looks like a great work day to me! We loved our time at Mary's Boon.
