Whale Tail--have any of the places who added service charge, added 20%, or has it been 15?
Yeah, I don't like that deal, of businesses basically paying for good reviews. So dishonest.

OK. I'm ok with that, I guess. I pay that and move on, even though I would normally tip 20%. Glad Dinghy's apparently figured out they can't get away with a different policy for every person.

Carol,
Being one who first posted back in November about the mandatory twenty percent add-on, I’m happy to see they straightened that out. Depending on the quality of service I’m more than happy to tip twenty percent but I hate having it mandated and particularly if the food or service doesn’t merit it.
We enjoyed our dinners at this restaurant and the only issue we had was the twenty percent add-on and the explanation we were given on two different occasions. Our dinners were very enjoyable and we’ve always enjoyed that location for beach days
I know we’ll head back there in April. My only wish is they might start serving a full breakfast menu! 😉😉.
Respectfully,
pat

". Discounting for reviews is another can of worms that has become more obvious by same good reviewer or mention over and over every other day same place." I see that happening on some Facebook sites. A constant mention of some establishments that reciprocate to the owner. 😉 Well I see the same people posting amazing stories and pics almost daily that its does become very suspicious reviews and it seems to be the case with this place too. just go back through and see who's getting reviewed all the time. Not saying they are not good and if the site manager allows it fine with me I can ignore. basically free advertising by someone associated or very friendly. I don't really believe any review I read good or bad until I try it myself. It's a struggle these days in business so I guess every trick in the book goes to some.

Seriously, if that is aimed at ME, you are very misinformed. Dinghy's is a new place and therefore there is a lot of chatter about them. But if you have paid attention to all the posts about them, there have been MANY bad posts here, talking about their tipping policy. And a lot of those posts have been by me.
SO, will close this one here.
