We started off with assorted pastries from La Sucriere. 3 of us opted to spend some time on Simpson Bay Beach at Mary's Boon. The other 2 hung out at The Atrium and did some laundry. We got to Mary's Boon around 10:00, found parking in front and got some nice padded loungers in the front row. Entry to the water was easy and the water was nice and with minimal drop-off. We each had a couple of drinks and a light lunch, salads and tempura shrimp. Service was good and not over-bearing, 15% service charge is included with suggested options for an additional tip. We left a couple of $$ each. I also found it interesting that there is also an option for the customer to ask for the 15% to be reduced if they are not satisfied with the service. Considering the loungers are at no charge if you eat and/drink there, we were very pleased.

A quick stop at Market Garden and then back to The Atrium to relax a bit before heading to Chesterfields for a birthday dinner celebration of 3 in the group. I made a quick stop at Lee's for happy hour, they were doing a brisk bar business for St. Patrick's Day.

We were just leaving for Chesterfield's when we were met by a pretty large group of the scooter/cycle idiots. Some were doing wheelies. riding on the rear tire and all speeding excessively. They continued on and then a smaller group doing the same thing appeared. I am glad we were going the other way as they headed into Simpson Bay. We were on Welfare Road and they were coming out of Waterfront Road. So much for cracking down on this crap. It is a scary thing when they come flying at you with reckless abandon and no concern for their safety or yours.

We had reservations at Chesterfields and were joined by my long-time (30+ years of knowing him) island friend, Junior Bruney. He was one of the birthday celebrations. Wine and drinks were ordered, some appetizers to share and entrees consisted of some sort of fish or seafood for all with the exception of one who ordered the duck. The duck got very high marks and all the other entrees were good as well. Several of us had desserts and they provided a round of green shots in honor of the day and the birthdays. 15% service charge added and we tipped extra for very good service. 2 hours of parking is comped with your ticket validated.

Chesterfields reminds me a lot of Mark's Place. Very good but not gourmet, frequented by locals and visitors alike, a good variety of food, lots of it and very reasonable prices along with very good service.

I called it a night while the others went to Hollywood casino and/or Red Piano.

Sounds like you had another fine day

We used to go to Chesterfields all the time when we stayed at Paasagraahan but since we’ve seemed to abandon P,burg lately we’ve forgotten Chesty and their good food. Will have to try it again.

Wow, JD posted more pictures, and he's even sort of smiling again! grin Hope Junior is doing OK physically, as I know he has had a lot of medical issues.

Yesterday was Sunday. Karakter used to have that head banging music on Sunday. Sounds like no problem with that yesterday, which is a good thing. We need to get to either Mary's or K next trip. So many restaurants, so little time!

He is doing pretty good and seems healthy. He is trying to work more with agents for the ships versus the usual way of working the harbor. He is working the airport some days also and some private jobs.

Good time at Mary's Boon yesterday. No noise from K and Tood gave them a good reveiw.

Working with agents for ships? What do you mean? Contracting for ship shore excursions?

Maybe K is no longer doing that BS. That is good.

Yes, planning tours ahead of time with an agent who works for the ships. Guaranteed business.

Mary's Boon had some music but nothing obnoxious.

You mentioned the padded chairs at Mary's Boon in the front row. Are they all padded? That Duck sounded inviting at Chesterfields. Might have to give it a go.

No, not all loungers are padded.

Charlie said the duck was some of the best he has had. I believe it was 1/2 duck, not just duck breast. The mashed potatoes there were very good as well. Some zucchini and carrots also came on the plates.

We go to Chesterfields on every visit. It’s not fine dining, but always consistently very good. I’ll have to try the duck next visit.
