I'll be staying one night in San Juan and need recommendations for a nice hotel near the airport, but not THE airport hotel. Thanks!

Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, Fairmont, El San Juan, ESJ Towersand Royal Sonesta are all within a 7 to 10 taxi ride from the airport. Pick the one that best fits your budget and accommodation style.

If you ever have more time in San Juan check out El Convento in Old San Juan.

We like the Hampton Inn. Happy hour by the pool. And several good restaurants right across the street

If you are looking for something up scale, The Condado Vanderbilt is very nice. About 15-20 minute taxi from the airport.
