A friend is visiting the Island next week. He asked me where he can rent a boat, about 18'to 21' and where he can pig out on Caribbean lobster. money seems to be no object.
he has his own fishing boat at home. any suggestions. he is staying at Divi.

I'd rent the boat from exquisite, which you do at the Hertz car rental.

I don't understand the connection of the boat and the lobster. Are you diving for lobster?

actually the person I'm referring to owns a lobster boat. not as a primary source of income. he is an avid boater. first timer in sxm on vacation. I had suggested he visit neighboring islands by cat. take a sail on the Stars and Stripes, and rent a boat. he enjoys lobster and so I want to steer him in the right direction so he has a positive view of the Island.
thank you.

Oh, your friend wants to know what restaurant to go to, to dine on lobster? Not associated with the boat question at all? If he wants grilled lobster, probably most people enjoy Lee's or Skipjacks the best. For lobster thermidore, Pineapple Pete or Antoine's in P'burg.

Actually your friend may be disappointed with caribbean lobster, as it is a bit different than what one would catch fresh on a boat off the coast of Maine.

Le Mini Club in Marigot has a Lobster buffet on Wednesday and Saturday starting at 6:00 pm. We did it both nights while in SXM, and would definitely do it on our next visit.
A word to the wise, they first bring out chilled lobsters (whole, but cut in half), then about a half hour later, they bring out the fresh off the grill lobster (also cut in half-lengthwise). If you can hold out, wait for the hot grilled ones- They are superb !!!

Mini Club buffet now starts at 6PM? Previously it was 7 or 7:30.

Found this place when searching for a boat for myself. http://www.mpyachting.com/Location_Bateaux_Saint_Martin/?page_id=612 I was looking for something out of Marigot. If your friend is staying at Divi this may not be the best option.

When we ate there in October (Saturday before the storm and the Wednesday after the storm), it was 6:00 PM. We got there at 5:30 on the Saturday, and were too early, so we walked the waterfront for a half-hour.

What is the cost these days and do they still off all the wine you want to drink with the buffet?
