Left Bequia 6:10 a.m. and just got home 9:51 p.m. Will post trip report soon. Fantastic place, have no complaints (well just some that will make you pee your pants)booked again for next year. P.S. The ferry broke down half way this morning on the way to airport. Vinceygirl and CuriousX - your input was most helpful but you didn't tell me about the "path" to Princess Margaret - "just a short walk" - my arse. LOL.

Day 1 - set off for JFK at 4:20 a.m. I have never parked in long term parking so I had no idea where it was. Circled airport twice before I actually found the parking lot. Those signs in my opinion are not clearly marked. Hopped on air train and made note "Station B" yea, I thought I was being brilliant you'll know what I mean later..Any how, checked in and off we go on American Airlines. Served a delightful breakfast - a bowl of cereal. Get to San Juan, I remember Curiousx saying "tricky". Well, I didn't think having no luggage waiting for us "tricky." Filed claim and finally figured out that we had to go out the exit door and head back into the airport to find Carribean Sun. Ran with no shoes on and just made the gate. Off we go again. I'm starving and crabby now - no luggage - no smokes. Midway they serve a snack - little ity bity bag of potatoe chips. Land, our taxi cab driver Kenny was waiting for us to bring us to the ferry. There were big rollers that night. Kinda of rough. Dock and our other taxi cab driver Curtis was waiting for us and brings us to the Fragipani. It is now 7:45 p.m. We didn't unpack but headed straight for dinner at the Fragipani. I had a seafood medley which was wonderful and my husband had steak. That night it rained. It was a heavy peaceful rain. Just knowing I was on vacation didn't matter. Moral of day 1 - bring snacks.

Day 2 - We decided to explore on foot. Walked up and down hills. Tried desparately to reach Princess Margaret Beach (we didn't know about the "path" at this point). While we are walking our taxi cab driver drives by and yells "hey, if you need a taxi call." Once I got to Lower Bay I realized I had to walk all the way back up and down - remember I'm a smoker. Now I know why Curtis was laughing. Beach was beautiful. Get to room to shower. This is the only complaint I had about the Fragipani. The shower head could not be adjusted up or down. I had sand all over me. I'm 5'2" difficulty getting sand out of my butt.

Our jeweler who has been to Bequia 8 years in a row gave us money for the bar owner at the Salty Dog b/c she had bought something from him and he was sending it to her. Salty Dog is advertised as a sports bar. I introduce myself to Andre, and of course, felt extremely welcomed and was made to feel at home. He was in fact expecting us. Proceeded to try to redocorate the bar, got totally drunk, and walked back to the Fragipani. Please note that our room was at the very top I could throw a stone at the Euro Shopper. My husband had to tow me up the stairs to the room. Being next to the road did not bother us at all. There was all the noise that someone had previously posted about.

Day 3 - Still no luggage and we have so many people calling. The taxi cab driver's daughter works at the airport, she's looking, Sabrina at Fragipani has a friend that works there, she's looking. AA says its there, but no one can locate it. Any hoo, we had Curtis take us around the eastern coast. Friendship Bay, Old Hegg Turtle Sancutary, Park Bay, Industry Bay, and Spring Bay. Ended up staying at Crescent for the day. There was an unfortunate accident in Spring that morning where the Whaleboner's owner has her cows. We discovered that between myself and my husband we own more horses than are on the island. Had a nice lunch at Crescent Beach Inn Ended up at Mac's Pizza for the evening. Loved it.

Day 4 - You got it - no luggage. We spent the afternoon at Princess Margaret. Get word that they found the luggage and they made both of us go to St. Vincent's to retrieve it. While in St. Vincent's drove around Kingstown (which I did not like) but if you are into plants or appreciate nature - go to the Botanical Gardens. Admission is free but we left $20 (American) but our tour guide was so great. Hung out at the Fragipani that evening.

Day 5 Sailed to Mustique on the Pelangi. Saw Moonhole. When we got to Mustique, they thought I was a soap opera star b/c it was only myself and my husband on the sail boat. I wondered why I was being treated like royalty. We explored the beaches. Absolutely beautiful. There were only 6 of us on the beach for what I could see for miles.

The remainder of the trip, we just hung around Princess Margaret Beach, relaxed, and enjoyed the beauty of this island. Would I go again? Absolutely. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. There was a constant cool breeze, I will pack a sweatshirt for the evening next time but don't get me wrong, it's not cold. We never used the air conditioner in our room. It rained almost every day which we heard was unusual for this time, but it passed and the sun came out. If you are looking for a resort town, casinos, and the night life you are accustomed to here in the States, this is not the place for you. You make your fun here. No timeshare people bugging you, no beggers. No high risers. The only rude people I encountered were the immigration guys at St. Vincent's. Just the tranquil beauty of a small island with great people. Did I think it was expensive? Compared to dinners we get when we are out - no. Now that we know some of the "tricks" the second time will be even better and I will remember EXACTLY where we parked at JFK.
