Is $309 for a rental a good price?...This is just the cost of the daily rate....NOT insurance, taxes etc.....I realize it is high season but would love some input for our pending trip in less than 3 weeks.

Looks excessive to me. I see that ACE offers around 170-200/week, depending on the particular days, and does include an extra driver and basic liability, but not tax and airport fee.

My Corolla is 175 a week includes all tax, fees and liability ins through Hertz for first week in May. You should be able to do better than 309.

this was thru Hertz and it was in Jan 2015...

I think its the high season rates. However if it is Hertz it includes liability insurance. I believe you can downgrade to a Yaris for a small bit of a savings from the Corolla.

Seems way high. I am paying 330 for 14 days mid April not a corolla but decent car.

A Corolla from the same service we rent from is $150-160/week mid-April...big difference from January..same car..same company

One car size down is $140/week

I'm paying $224 total for 9 days in June for a Corolla from Allain at AAA. Another popular TTOL sponsor who we used 4 times prior quoted me $315 + taxes. So much for loyalty. Pays to shop around.

I believe that they got their quote in January for the April trip is the way I read it.

Check out Unity Car rental's web page for rates listed. They list rate for all seasons and are pretty competive. TTOT sponcers and have used for years with nothing but good service and god cars.

I saw this and was commenting on that. I stand confused and corrected ...but...until the 16th of April it is still listed as high season and those January quotes would apply. The 3rd week of April is much cheaper.

309 is totally nuts even during high season. For mid April it is a complete rip off!!!! Check with the sponsors....and run from the one u got this ridiculous price from. Remember, you just want to rent the car...not BUY IT!!

I just did a quick quote request from Hertz for April 18-25 and you can get a Carolla from them for $180 for the week. I would re-book with Hertz or someone else.

We reserved through Unity for 11 days in May at a cost of $230 plus tax. We have used Unity for many years and wouldn't think of using anyone else.
