Coming to the island in a week with a large family group. We are considering a special dinner at our villa rental with a private chef. Any suggestions for someone who cooks good food and is reasonable?

We attended a cocktail party that was catered by Fabulous Feasts, and I can attest to the fact that the food was delicious!

I don't know what your definition of 'reasonable' is and their food may be a bit more highbrow than what you're wanting if there are little kids involved, but Fabulous Feasts also did a wonderful dinner for us at our villa, although it has been a while ago.

If you are not looking for upscale and expensive, but a taste of the islands, try Sheika. She also runs a restaurant in Philipsburg.

thanks for that additional recommendation. I wasn't sure what exactly the OP is going for.

Another vote for Fabulous Feasts! They did Thanksgiving dinner for our family of eleven, back in November. We all ordered a-la-carte, and everything was SUPERB. Could not have been more pleased, and the price was extremely reasonable.

do you know if they'll (fab feasts) do a dinner for two (while the kids are tucked away!) once or twice during our stay?
perhaps too small of a job?

They definitely do smaller parties, which we had them do dinner for 2.

Romain Boghossian is excellent. I have been at a party that served his cooking and have had guests rave about his private chef services.

He can be contacted at stmartinprivatechef@yahoo.fr

L'Oizeau Rare is a restaurant that will also do catering. We've found the food in the restaurant to be quite good.

we recently had a fantastic dinner at a l'ardoise in grand case. it is in the former location of le quinze, short lived but wonderful place. the chef/owner, with past experience at fabulous feasts, now does work as private chef. his contact is:
