Hi
Returned (8/19) from a 2 week trip to Virgin Gorda. We rented the most wonderful studio villa (shhh, don't tell anyone) from Guavaberry, right near the baths called Casita..It was immaculate and had everything you would want/need.. Tina and Valerie run it PERFECTLY...They were terrific ladies...
It was the most fabulous trip. We had a pool and friendly dogs that we fed daily and fell in love with... We mostly cooked in using the local fish, produce and groceries purchased at Buck's market at the marina..
We spent a morning over in Tortola..rented a dingy for the day to explore the north side waters (out of Leverick)visiting prickly pair (the only 2 on it!)...and had lunch over at Saba Rock...and snorkeled about wherever the dingy took us...There have been many changes since last years visit...sadly, the reefs have lost their color due to the water being so warm (I was told, and read)... not as many fish...managed to see some sea turtles and other beautiful species...[color:"blue"][/color]but the water is still the most beautiful I have ever seen...
I love the BVI so much, I am always "homesick" when I return to NY! PS..Anyone dining at The Rock..BEWARE of the "TAX" listed on your bill....Knowing there is NO food tax, I asked the waiter what this "tax" was, and he "explained" it was a "gratuity for the kitchen and staff,"......PLEEEZZZZEEEE....imagine how many naive people over-tip there? Needless to say, we didn't return. There are many other wonderful dining establishments on VG.. One of my favorites is Fisher's Cove..great views, staff and food. Hope this has been of some help.
Paula
