Although we have been to Anguilla several times with AquaMania day trips, we haven't explored independently. We will be taking the public ferry from Marigot. I've read conflicting prices on the ferry, is it $20 each way per person?

I understand Sunday's are good for live music during the day. We would like to stick to the Valley as we were in Shoal Bay East last year. I know of Johnno's in Sandy Ground and the Dune Preserve in Rendezvous Bay but haven't been to either yet. Any suggestions for "must-stops" in the afternoon time?

How does the cab system work? Do you make arrangements for pick up at a certain time? Thanks in advance!

We have been there twice when we rented a car at the ferry dock. Drive on the left side is the only problem, but after five minutes it's easy. The Dune Preserve is really nice and interesting and the beach is beautiful there. Next door is the Cuisinart Resort which had a Hydroponic Farm you can tour. Across the island on Mead's Bay Beach is the Blanchards Restaurant, either indoor or their beach bar. Neat Beach and great people. We usually stick to one end of the island per visit, but if you head the other way you have Shoal Bay East and a few neat restaurants on that end. We find renting is less expensive than the taxis and you know you will get back in time for the last ferry back.

It's 20.00 pp each way on the ferry, cash, plus $5.00 departure tax, cash.
Agree with Kate, except we like Johnno's after DaVida - we never miss DaVida or Johnnos on Sundays.
Catch a cab at the dock, land at DaVida, great chairs, food, beach and music, tell him to come back and get you at 4:30pm and catch the ferry back.
Do Johnno's or Dune next trip.
Don't forget your passport.
Have fun.
Ellen
