Kakao does have a new manager, not sure if it's a new owner as well, but I think so. GP is still there, unless something's changed in the last couple of weeks.

We have been to Kakao twice this trip and weren't impressed by the service either time. (We always like to give places a second chance.)

We had a lovely lunch at Kakao on Dec 11th. We shared les nems vietnamiens and la pizza supreme. The food was very good, the waiter was very friendly and helpful and the view of course, was amazing. The waiter brought complementary shots of banana vanilla rum and we took 2 slices of pizza home in a box and enjoyed them later. We will definitely return to Kakao.

Was Jeremy working there? He is our favorite waiter. He is always so good to us, we have lots of laughs and lots of Ma Dou Dou. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

It Is possible that our problem is that we have been there late in the day both times (more for dinner than lunch). So it could be that they are at the end of a busy day...

Yes, that could be, as, as far as I know, they are not open for dinner?? We have always had really good food and service there..

That would be a horrible rumor about GP!! When, and how long ago was this purported to be? Is it possible he went home for the holidays or vacation? Though with high season in full swing that would be awful timing....

Kakao is our favorite. Great days, long lunches, Sunday specials.....front row with Karl. Those are the days it is leftovers or salads at home!

Sorry. We didn't catch the name of our waiter. We'll try to do that next time.

Jeremy was still there last month.

As far as the service there, it's French. We've never been displeased with our service there, but are prepared to (and want to) spend at least two hours enjoying our lunch.

GP was there up to December 18 when we left with no plans to leave and I have seen several of his postings on Facebook from his bar. The same owner for KaKao was there in December as well.
