the following was posted by me in another forum in Nov.
I know this has been discussed here before but I feel the need to bring it up again. We walked over to 'So French' last night (right across from Simpson Baby Resort).. When the check was presented our waiter make a point of the fact that there was no service charge included. After perusing the check a little more carefully, I noticed a $44 item added to the 'tax' line. I questioned him and he tried to tell me that because of the way the computer is set up, the so called not existant service charge had to go on the tax line. This did NOT sit well with me. So zero additional tip was included by us. BTW, the check is presented on a teeny tiny phone. It took some searching to find this bogus charge, but I had been forewarned here. Too bad this happened, as the food and service was wonderful. I had a huge yummy lamb shank which i devoured. To sum up, I will NOT be back

Wow - a $44 add-on? And they think people will return? This really crosses the line. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif" alt="" />
I'm going where the weather suits my clothes.
