Has anyone's rented scooters on anegada? Are they a safe way to get around the island?

You obviously haven't seen the roads on Anegada. Even if you don't encounter any vehicle traffic while riding your scooters, the roads can be REALLY rough.

I would rent a jeep instead.

I've rented scooters and although fun I won't do it again. The roads are not great but sand is the worst. To get to Cow Wreck it's a lot of driving down a sandy road not any fun.

When we were on Anegada in December they were paving the road heading towards Cow Wreck. Not sure how far it will go.

For what it's worth, I was chatting with Anjuliena of Anjuliena's Scooter Rental a few days ago, and he said that all of the main roads on Anegada (including those to Cow Wreck and Loblolly) will be paved by summer's end. Hope he's right!

Flotsam

Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

Probably take one more election to get all the way to Cow Wreck. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
